Texel / Suftex

Andrew established the “Brenley” Texel stud in 1999 with a passion for the breed as a leading terminal meat breed. He quickly focused on the structural importance of feet, bone and lambing ability that were lacking in the breed of the first imported sheep making the breed more suited to NZ farming practises without compromising the carcass attributes the breed is well known for. Brenley is scattered throughout numerous Texel pedigrees throughout NZ, Australia, China and Uruguay via semen and live export.

All recorded ewes are run at Springvale amongst commercial Romdale ewes, totally unshepherded. Lambs are electronically tagged and DNA recorded at tailing/docking to verify parentage, survivability against pregnancy scanning data.
